Generic AMBIEN (Zolpidem Tartrate) is used for the temporary relief of Insomnia (sleeplessness). The generic AMBIEN we provide is available in a dose of 10mg. It is a non-narcotic medication which provides the user with greater control over their sleeping pattern. This medication is FDA approved for the treatment of Insomnia. The effects of these usually last for 6 to 7 hours.
Before using:
It can occasionally cause adverse reactions in some people. These side effects can include swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat; difficult with breathing or hives. Due to the sedative effect, this medication should not be taken during waking hours. It's recommended to take this medication only if there is a full 7-8 hours available to sleep. Extended and repeated use can lead to addiction. Likewise, ceasing the use of this medication suddenly can lead to withdrawal symptoms. These can include vomiting, stomach cramps, nausea, flushing and increased anxiety. As well as this, stopping taking these can result in further difficulty in sleeping. This is called 'rebound Insomnia' and should disappear after 1 or 2 nights.
How to use:
It takes effect very quickly following consumption. You should take Generic AMBIEN orally, preferably on an empty stomach before bedtime. If It is taken with food the effects of the medication will be delayed due to a slower absorption rate.
Recommended Dosage
The main factors that determine dosage are age and previous medical history. The maximum recommended dose is 10mg before bedtime. However, this dosage may need to be decreased in certain circumstances. Elderly patients or patients with hepatic insufficiency may be more sensitive than others to the effects of Generic AMBIEN. In cases such as these, an initial dose of 5mg before bedtime would be recommended. It is not recommended to be used by anyone under the age of 18 years old.
Drug Interactions
Alcohol should be avoided whilst taking Generic AMBIEN as alcohol can increase its sedative effect.The following drugs are also known to interact with Generic AMBIEN: Chlorpromazine, Cimetidine, Fluconazole, Imipramine, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, Rifampicin and Ritonavir. It should also be noted that Imipramine and Chlorpromazine may cause an addition decrease of awareness in patients that are taking Generic AMBIEN. If you already take any of these medications, seek medical advice prior to taking Generic AMBIEN.
